Tanyss Robertson

My name is Tanyss Robertson and I am a veterinary assistant at Best Friends Animal Hospital. I have been a veterinary assistant for 17 years. After 15 yrs in retail sales I decided I needed a new challenge. I took a medical office administrative course and 1 month before I graduated I received an offer to join the team at Winrose Animal Hospital, where I was a client with my own pets.

I was always impressed by the staff‘s dedication to the pets and how well they worked as a team. At that time Dr. McQuade owned the practice along with a partner. I was able to apply my new skills and learn much more from the doctors and staff.

The most exciting thing about being a veterinary assistant is the constant variety of the field. Veterinary medicine advances all the time. We are presented many opportunities to learn and apply better care for our patients.

I have been with Best Friends Animal Hospital since 2005. Some of my responsibilities include maintaining the inventory in the hospital, client education, patient care, kissing all the pets and harassing all the staff. My own 2 pets are Boswell Arthur a 3 yr old Collie Cross a and Roo a 11 yr old corgi cross who I adopted from a friend when she was unable to take him to England. I am very privileged to have them in my family.
